Since we’re all about building and maintaining relationships, we thought that we would give you a little peek into some of the amazing companies and professionals that we work closely with. This month, we are pleased to showcase Hector Islas Photography, an amazing photography company that focuses on capturing their clients’ priceless memories.
Hector Islas began his business around 2008, but he was only working part-time. Like Famous DJ Agency, he also went through a name change (see a previous blog of ours to learn more about our name history). Hector originally began under the name Hec9 before rebranding his image in 2015.
Before he was a celebrated photographer, Hector graduated from Cal State L.A. in 2007 with a degree in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics and Computer Science. However, it didn’t take long for him to realize that photography was his true passion, a moment Hector recounts as being one of the most pivotal in his career.
After making the decision to pursue photography full-time, Hector has served countless clients all over Southern California. His clientele lists includes Clients include AltaMed, Rose Hills, HSA, ARAS, NSA, ProAmerica Bank, Tamayo Restaurant, YMCA, Inglewood Park Cemetery, Google, AHWM, LALCC, Embassy Suites Downey, LACBA, QueensCare, Xabi Jeans, and many more.
While Hector has the skill set to shoot different genres, he specializes in Weddings/Portraits, Corporate, and Commercial photography.
We know that there are many photographers to choose from, but Hector sets himself apart from the rest in his business. His customer service and ability to capture beautiful moments is unparalleled. He also has an incredible use of creative lighting and vision, which is highly sought after by more modern couples.
Like Famous DJ Agency, Hector Islas is all about giving back to others. He also has offered a tip to aspiring photographers: “It’s a really competitive field, but, if you really like it, patience and practice will eventually pay off. So keep at it!”
Since go-getters are never completely satisfied with where they are, Hector has big plans for the future.
In the next 5 to 10 years, Hector would like to see his company do more commercial/corporate events and possibly even teach new photographers. He also hopes to have a larger studio and have hired more associate photographers.
Hector’s favorite thing about working in the photography industry is meeting lots of new, great people and being able to visit different locations for shoots.
