What It Takes To DJ A Wedding
One of the of the most sentimental and anticipated days in someone’s life is their wedding day. It’s a day that will never be forgotten by the bride and groom, and all of their guests. It’s a day where one arguably spends the most money on a celebration than they ever have before. It’s a sacred moment and so much of the celebrating portion is in the DJ’s hands.
For a DJ, a wedding is a very unique experience; it takes a lot of energy and detail to assist in a wedding celebration. Not only is there dancing to provide music for, but there is the unforgettable song that will be played when the bride and groom walk down the aisle. The DJ must also fulfill all the of MC duties, which begins from the time the couple walks down the aisle to the moment when the guests are told, “last song, everybody!”
One of the details required for a wedding is proper preparation. A prepared DJ is the best DJ. Being prepared as a DJ means being ready for anything. For example, if the bride and groom want a certain last minute song played when they come out to the reception, then the DJ has to be ready to play it. Maybe a chord decides to unexpectedly stop working, in that case, the DJ should have a spare so that the party can carry on.
It is also imperative that the DJ is dressed according to the couple’s standards. We mentioned in previous blogs that DJs set the mood of the party and are often the energizing force when it’s time to dance. A casually dressed DJ at a formal wedding is definitely going to shift the mood (and maybe not in a good way).
