How To Throw The Best Super Bowl Party Ever

Your Super Bowl Party Checklist

  • A Big Screen
  • DJ/Sound
  • Comfortable Seating
  • Beer/Drinks
  • Festive Plates, Cups, Napkins, & Decor
  • BBQ & Snacks

A Big Screen- Although the items in this list don’t necessarily start with the most important, a big screen is definitely something you need in order to have a phenomenal Super Bowl bash. Opening your home to friends and family is a great venue for this event. In order to watch the game, you’ll need to create space in the family room or, if you want an outdoor event, set up a projector in the backyard. Outdoor projectors can be rented from our preferred event rental company, Orbit Event Rentals. The projector also allows you to have a bigger screen (go big or go home) to optimize your viewing ability. This might be the best option if you’re planning on a good amount of people to watch the game with you.

Sound-  So many people forget this! If you are planning on renting a projector, make sure you also rent audio equipment. Another option is to hire a DJ to provide sound. With a professional DJ handling sound, you don’t have to worry about your TV not being loud enough or guests missing out on the action when they walk away from the TV since a DJ has multiple speakers that can be placed in different spaces. Lastly, a great DJ can bring life to the party, while also making announcements for activities. Having a DJ there can also provide your party with some nice background music before the game starts and when guests are arriving. Of course, this isn’t mandatory for a great Super Bowl party, but it will definitely take your party to the next level.

Comfortable Seating- This is a must. Most of us stop at our couches when hosting parties at our homes but there are other types of seating if you want to elevate your Super Bowl party. If your party is outdoors, you can rent amazing outdoor lounge furniture. However, If you are on a budget, a very comfortable alternative are camping chairs. You can also add seat cushions to plastic chairs. Another option is to make your party BYOC (bring your own chair), which would give your party a more of a tailgate vibe. If you are planning your party indoors, the couch with some surrounds chairs is a perfect set up. Also, don’t forget about folding chairs just in case the available seating fills up!

Beer/Drinks- Have fun with this! An ice-cold beer is a football classic, but it doesn’t have to stop there. Get creative with your party drinks to get your friends and family in the Super Bowl spirit. The foodnetwork suggests Frozen Beergaritas, Super Bowl Punch, Sweet Tea Cocktail, and if you don’t mind the heat, Jalapeno Jelly Tequila Shots. You could also make colored drinks to match the LA Rams’ (or Patriots) team colors.

Plates, Cups & Napkins- This one may not be the most glamorous but it is especially important to remember! Going to the store on game day for these items is the last thing you want to do. So stalk up in advance! Going the disposable route is definitely easiest when planning a big party. The thought of washing all of those dishes and cutlery gives us nightmares! Skip the stress and just go with something your guests can throw away. It will also make your clean up a whole lot easier. Tie your plates, cups, and napkins into the Super Bowl theme to add festivity.

Barbecue- A barbecue is the heart of the Super Bowl party. Treat your guests to classic hamburgers, hot dogs, and veggies (in case any of your guests don’t eat meat). It’s also super easy to grill up some burgers or hot dogs in bulk. You also don’t have to spend a lengthy amount of time preparing the food before hand unless, of course, you’re making the patties by hand. In addition to a great bbq, you need great snacks. Have a potluck style party, so you get a variety of snacks you know your guests will enjoy! You can begin the snack table with some chips and salsa (maybe some guac too!), veggie platters, fries, and potato chips.
